G&G

Grandpa and Grandma Necas were able to make the trip down for the Great Strides Walk.  We were thankful they were able to be here with teamASHER, and of course Asher ate up the time he had with his grandparents.

We decided to make the trip out to the Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium.  It’s quite the drive, and really expensive, but we really enjoyed the morning we had together out there.  Asher loved feeding some animals, riding the skyline, carousel, train, and looking at all the sea life in the Aquarium.  My favorite was that for every new creature he saw he would go running up to it and shout, “Mommy, show you me, Mommy, show you me, right here, right here” in this really high-pitched voice and pointing frantically.  I just love his excitement for life!

And then the mother of all memories happened!  Dare-devil Grandpa wanted to go on the flume, which of course I wanted to go too, but he suggested that Asher would love it as well.  Asher met the height requirements, and the worker guy said he would be fine, so before I knew it we were all in the flume floating away.  I don’t think I realized how big of a ride it was until we were going up the hill.  I turned around and asked Asher what he thought and he said, “whoa, big hill!”  I got a little nervous at that moment, but it really was too late, we were going down.  I can’t stop laughing when I look at these pictures of us coming down!  Dad and I look like we’re having a ball, and Asher is so confused as to what’s happening!  He didn’t cry, and was completely out of control happy when we got off (he kept throwing his head back and letting out this huge cackle – which was probably from all the adrenaline!).  Jeremy said he was so happy because he probably felt like he just faced death, and cheated it!  I’m sure he’s right.  Well, I guess we’re ready for Legoland now :).

Asher looks ready for Legoland for sure!!! He is so brave!

(. . .and, Rach, what is a ‘flume’? Is that North Dakota speak for ‘log cabin ride?’! 🙂

LOL, Krista! Maybe “flume” is a North Dakota word! It’s definitely a lot shorter to say than a “log cabin ride” though, ha!

As a nerd, I feel compelled to point out that Flume is the correct term for the ride.

Although Rachel definately has a reputation for unique words, I thought “flume” was right too. But Krista just had that third child, so everything is probably mixed up in her mind. Three is definately a big challenge.
All the pictures in this post are the sweetest! Asher definately has really fun grandparents on all sides. It’s wonderful that he went on that log ride and that you got a picture of him going down! Ha!! He’s so brave! Nothing compares to the WWZoo in my mind and I’m a zoo hater. No other zoo lets you feed giraffes!
Thanks for posting all these wonderful pictures!
