Jan 2013
There have been a lot of tears shed this last month leading up to Christmas, and January 4th. We think about Paxon so often, but these days are proving to be a time of remembrance of our sweet boy, and reliving the journey and his legacy. It’s interesting to me that the Lord planned Paxon’s birth on the day that we celebrate the birth of our Savior. I obviously don’t mean to be disrespectful to Jesus. I guess it just makes the day more significant to us. Babies, born to die, to change our lives both here on earth, and forever eternally. We love and miss you, Paxon.
Asher came into church with us this year to sing Christmas carols and enjoy service. There’s something just oh so sweet about holding your child and singing Christmas carols. Then, we came home for our Christmas Eve traditions of opening one gift, pictures by the tree, and getting cookies ready for Santa. Isn’t it the best time of the year! What’s not the best, is just realizing you accidentally deleted the pictures of your boys by the Christmas tree! Ugh.
We had a wonderful Christmas together. We have which may sound like the lamest Christmas tradition ever, but we look forward to it every year. Jammies and make your own homemade pizza. We’ve been rocking it for 12 years, and have no ambitions of changing it :). It was a beautiful day, and so much fun watching the boys enjoy their new gifts.
Just enjoying the day…and watching “Walkie Talkie Handler” solve lots of cases. Asher loves his new detective kit, and has actually been quite helpful solving the “where are my shoes” and “where is my phone” mysteries around the house :).
What a beautiful post! So glad that God gives us special memories amongst our tears. Thanks for sharing. I’m pretty sure your Christmas traditions will be cherished by Asher and Beck in the years to come. Love you guys!
You are all so precious & cute! Love reading about how the boys are growing!
I thought about Paxon on Christmas for sure…but I still think about him and pray for your family every day. We moved out of our old house in July, but his picture went right back up on the fridge when we settled here.
So happy to hear you had a great Christmas!!!! <3

Asher’s sweet facial expression and his face pressed up against the magnifying glass is too PRECIOUS!!
