KURT WARNER! So, not only is he an outstanding quarterback and Christian man, he’s also our new best friend! Ok, so we’ve never really met him, but he and the Cardinals donated an awesome football with his signature on it, and so for that we’re BFF’s for life. It can be all yours, if you’d like to come to Asher’s Open House/Silent Auction next Saturday. This football is about as beautiful as a football can be! And someone better buy it quick, because someone else is dying to get his little hands all over it :).
Also on the Silent Auction front, our friends, Aaron and Ashley, won the online bidding and are proud owners of a couple of first class tickets to the Suns game next week!! We’re SO thankful for their donation to teamASHER for $130.00! Thanks for kicking off Asher’s event on a great note!

We bought Asher his first backpack. It’s tigger, and completely adorable! It’s perfect for him to carry his little toys (cell phone, remote control, game controller – you know, all the basics for a techie boy, ha!) and his sippy cup around. He’s getting to be a big boy now, so with that comes big responsibilities :).

Little birdies are about to hatch, trees are budding, plants are flowering, and a little boy is growing. It’s busy around here! All the new growth has made me stop and recognize how much Asher has grown lately. He’s forming new words, helping me put clothes away, taking off his jammies, and giving us knuckles. He’s getting so big!

I took Asher to his first story time today at the library. The theme was dinosaurs. The whole experience was really cute, and Asher loved it, so I’m sure we’ll be frequenters. The nice lady who led the story time sang songs with the kids (classics like “The Wheels on the Bus”, “I’m a Little Tea Pot”, and “If You’re Happy and You Know It”), and then followed them up with dinosaur pop-up books. We sat by the door, because I wasn’t really sure how long Asher was going to be able to sit still. I guess we chose a good seat because he enjoyed welcoming all the kids into the room with his cute, little wave. Afterwards, the nice story time lady brought her dinosaur out for the kids to meet. We ended up being the last to leave (because someone was checking out the room) and so Asher got some one on one time with the dinosaur. I told him to go stand by the dinosaur for the picture and he went and cozied right up on the nice story time lady’s lap. She said we can come back anytime :).
The post was originally going to end there, but I thought I should document how the rest of our afternoon went. Asher decided to drop my RED nailpolish bottle on our bathroom floor which splattered everywhere, and shattered a crystal dish on the kitchen floor all in the matter of a 1/2 hour. Dennis the Menace doesn’t have nothing on our Ash-man! I hope Dish Network has an exception in their return policy that gives grace to owners with boys, because there is no resurrecting this thing. It’s toast.

Asher and I were pounding the pavement today trying to round up some more prizes for the Silent Auction. We stopped at Brunswick Zone (Gilbert + Warner). They have a huge Arcade in there! I thought it would be fun to let Asher roam around since no one was in there, and it’s like a toddler’s paradise with all the blinking lights and music playing. I set Asher down, and he looked up at me like, “are you serious, mom!” Yep, kinda felt like the best mom in the world at that moment :). And, you just can’t go to an arcade without taking a trip through the photo booth!
I thought I would let you know of some of the great gift certificates we’ve received so far for the silent auction…in hopes to entice you to come to our big event :):

We had another fun playdate with our friends Krista, Chase and Carter. Asher and Carter are only two months apart, so it’s been fun to watch them grow together. When Krista and I talked about taking a picture of the boys, we remembered this old picture of Asher (3 months) and Carter (5 months) that we had took in the same chair. Chaser must have been taking a nap when we were over because he’s missing in action.
I love this picture of the boys. They look like they’re having the best time! My favorite part is that one boy has both shoes on, one boy has no shoes on, and one boy has one shoe on. Sounds about right when you get three boys together, ha! Thanks for the fun memories, friends!

I was in Minnesota for four days visiting my parents and Super Grandpa. I had a great trip! I am thankful though to be home, out of the snow, and back with my boys. I had to take a picture of the snow drifts just to document the snowy craziness. Yep, that’s the top of a snow drift, and yep, that’s the roof line of a house. Thankfully we didn’t leave the house much. I’m a wimp now, and I’m ok with it.
Asher must be getting tired of all the chubby jokes, because he’s been trying the one-legged scale trick :). Sorry, buddy, it doesn’t help.

I’m leaving for a few days tomorrow, without my little baby. I have a feeling this is going to be WAY harder on me than on him – he’s going to be having a ball with his daddy! These pictures are really just so I can see his little face while I’m away missing him.
