Well, tonight’s the night. He’s all tucked away in his big boy bed, but the jury is still out on whether or not we all like the big boy bed, ha! Earlier this week we went to Target and let Asher pick out his new sheets. Jeremy and I thought for sure he was going to pick the Toy Story set, but he passed up all of the other cartoons for Cars. He loves that movie, but we were shocked he didn’t stay loyal to his Buzz and Woody. He seems pretty happy with his decision though.
When he woke up from his nap today we told him we were going to take down his crib and bring in his big boy bed. The grumpy face picture is the look we got, which was less than encouraging. But, as soon as we finished setting his bed up, he climbed right up and said, “Yea, new bed!”
We’ll see how this all goes, I’m so nervous about it. He’s just so curious and has no fear, so giving him the responsibility to stay in one place (even though he doesn’t HAVE to) is quite the stretch for him. AND, we moved his monitor to where we thought would be a prime time location so we can see his whole room and if he’s breaking the rules and wandering, except that it’s too far for the monitor to pick anything up and all we see is basically static now…ugh. We’ll see who sleeps tonight :).
We also colored some eggs today, and Asher decorated them with dinosaur sticks :).
Wow your very own bed,how exciting for you!Hope things go good!Have a Happy Easter
Oh, that little guy is just SO adorable!!! Miss him! Love those pics! Those store ones are a crack up…he certainly looks satisfied with his decision! And what a fun idea that you let him pick out which ones…I may have to steal that idea from you!! And that grumpy face in the crib…ha! ha! Love it! So now the real question…how did last night go???
How big they get to be sleeping in a “real” bed. What a great idea to have him pick out his bedding. You will have to update us how how he slept. I also love how you decorated eggs. It brings back childhood memories for me! Happy Easter!
Well, we made it through our first nights sleep, and nap today. He started wrestling around at about 6:15a and cracked his door open a little to peek out and see if the coast was clear. Of course I was there like a hall monitor telling him he needed to go back to his bed until 7:00a. This happened again about 15 mins later and when I put him back in his bed I told him I would give him an M&M if he stayed in bed until 7:00a. He was happy to obey with that little reward, and started jumping up and down when he saw the “7” on his clock. We’ll see how tomorrow morning goes :).
Love the Big Bed, Asher! You are really growing up fast. This is an importnat milestone. The big Boy Bed is followed by taxes, car insurance, and your very own AARP membership. Enjoy the journey! God is good!
