Pill Taker!

Asher has no pancreatic function and has to take supplemental enzymes with every meal in order to be able to digest food. He currently take six pills which each meal, which we have been breaking open and serving him in applesauces since he was a month old. Yesterday…he swallowed his first set of pills on his own! Way to go, Asher!

I’m with Erin…have tears in my eyes…and I’m laughing out loud…that was just so precious!! What a big guy!! That’s amazing!! And I love that he nodded his head after each one, proud of himself (and rightfully so!!)…and then how he stuck his tongue out to show you he did it! Too cute!

The boys and I have watched this video 5 times today. We all clap at the appropriate time. Every time it is complete. Micah starts (literally crying) saying “More More, Pease, More, More Asser” (Will have to start working on that crucial SH sound!) We have absolutely adored this video!

that is AMAZING, sooo happy for him. My little one is 8 and still not swallowing hers. I am having trouble helping her because i don’t even know how to swallow pills, do you have any suggestions that might help.

Hi Essence! Gosh, I really don’t have any helpful advice for you. I don’t know how he does it. I have to completely fill my mouth with water, drop the pill in, and try to swallow so I don’t feel the pill at all (have you tried this?). Asher just pops the pill in and sometimes swallows without water at all. I really don’t know how he does it. So sorry, I don’t feel like I’m able to help you much!
