Asher’s digital scrapbook has definitely taken a backseat these last few months leading up to the silent auction, so I thought I would put up a few random pictures and memories to get caught up a bit…or at least call it even and go for a fresh start :).
Asher is getting so big it’s hard to keep up with all the new things he’s able to do and say now. He knows all the letters in the alphabet, can count to ten, knows most of the shapes (he gets hung up on the rectangle), knows all the colors, he’s talking up a storm now, loves helping out around the house, loves loves loves to be chased and “tickah tickah”, and he’s starting to have a little imagination now which has been a blast – this whole week we have been squealing and hiding under the blanket from the big dinosaur.
We spend a lot of time building train tracks and playing with his trains, which I just love. I remember when we found out we were having a boy I got excited about one day playing trains with him – well that day is definitely here. We play a lot of matching games now (he’s so good at this!), and one of his most favorite things are the binoculars and looking at the moon.
This is totally random. This is what we saw looking out our front door a few weeks ago. It literally went over our house and the whole neighborhood was out waving to the them.
He’s actually starting to be able to play video games…well, the drive kind that really only require you to push the gas, but we’re looking forward to him being able to play video games and have something else fun to do while he’s doing his treatment. Oh, and another monumental line of blocks for the books! Look at him, he’s so proud! Of course he was just as proud when he demolished the line :).
Just washin’ his wheels with his new helmet :). He wore that helmet for four hours the first day we got it, ha!
When Grandma and Grandpa Olimb were here we went to feed the ducks and let Asher scoot around on his bike. It had rained that morning and so there were lots of puddles all over. I just had to take a picture of his very deliberate driving path – couldn’t miss a puddle. He’s such a boy. We love him.
How fun…who needs a hot air balloon festival when they come right over your house for free 🙂
Oh I loved this post! So fun for someone who’s away from that sweet little guy!! We miss you guys so much! Asher is growing up so much…and still as cute as ever!!!
Lovin the randomness of this post 🙂 Lots of fun! And lovin Asher’s boy-ness! He has definitely grown up so much! CUTE CUTE CUTE!
PS…the tracks through the puddles made me laugh out loud 🙂
Okay, love reading about what Asher is up to these days. I love how he wore his helmet for 4 hours, now Jeremy will have a partner at home with video games and the fact Asher drove through all the puddles. Great pictures too!
Great bunch of pictures,Love the one with his trike&the story about the helmet.
I LOVE this post! Thanks for keeping us all informed of the goings-on in the Olimbs house. What a smart little guy you’ve got! Wow. What a testament to all of the hard work you are doing Rach (and J). Rachel, you’re a great mom and Asher is so blessed to get to spend every day with you.
Oh your little guy is sooo cute.. I sure miss mine being that little…. We didnt know Lane had CF until he was four…. I admire all you moms of little ones besomes I am sure treatments are NO fun…. I have to use all kinds of bribes lol Lane and his dad are currently playing baseball xbox – the World Series, which is what I call it cuz it goes on forever… but that is okay cuz I will say we have had a treat box for treatments, we have paid him a dollar a day before, oftered movies, cartoons, and they all work for a while, so now yeah its the xbox which he got for Christmas… man for three months now we have hit GOLD… yeah… nice thing is when that game runs him into bordom we can go get another… Yes I confess fighting over treatments makes me feel terrible, so yeah he wins that battle always generally.. I am hostage to treatments… lol Your little guy is sooooo cute….
Graham is also into making “lines” out of everything! Cards, dominoes, cars, blocks, toys, track, etc. He’ll make it go from one end of the house to the other. So cute that they have so much in common!
Marcy, you’re so sweet to stop by Asher’s blog! I just love keeping up with your little Lane. You are a blessing to the cf community, and I really appreciate your encouragement about Asher’s treatments and all his tv time. Whatever it takes to get the meds in, right :). Lots of love to you!
